Background of the Study

Public secondary schools in Ogun State face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, insufficient teaching materials, and overcrowded classrooms. This study investigates how budget allocation influences school performance, focusing on key indicators such as examination results, teacher performance, and student engagement.
Statement of the Problem
Despite budgetary allocations for education, public secondary schools in Ogun State often struggle with inadequate resources and declining performance. Questions have been raised about the sufficiency, efficiency, and transparency of budget utilization.
This study evaluates the relationship between budget allocation and school performance, identifying factors contributing to the gap between funding and educational outcomes.

Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study focuses on public secondary schools in Ogun State over the past five years. Limitations include access to budgetary records and reliance on secondary data.
